I mean I get the message in this very short piece — i.e. those who need “extra boxes” are not intrinsically less than. But reading it, it feels like these words belong in the category of puritanical wokeness, or unproductive wokeness policing.

I don’t think it does much work other than shaming people who might have learned something from this image. I’m not sure how useful it is to look at someone who has just learned the concept of equity and claim they are a white supremacist for supporting structures that give people “extra boxes.”

I think there is an argument to be made that the act of giving “boxes” is not an act of condescending charity, but instead an act of necessary justice. It’s not a hand out given by messianic white heroes its… equity, it’s deserved. But that’s sort of a subtle point and I’m not sure this piece nails it except to, again, slam people who aren’t “woke” enough to see that they’re low key neo-nazis for sharing a progressive meme in good faith.
